OPEN LETTER TO MR. PRESIDENT KLAUS WERNER IOHANNIS AND TO THE ROMANIAN GOVERNMENT!
Berlin, December 7, 2022
Dear Mr. President!
The Committee for the Independence of Transylvania, Partium and Banat calls on the government in Bucharest to allow the citizens of Transylvania, Partium and Banat to hold a referendum on independence.
We know that the Romanian constitution does not currently allow this, so the Independence Committee calls on the Government in Bucharest to start consultations immediately and, if necessary, to amend the law or constitution so that the citizens of Transylvania, Partium and Banat in 2023- can hold a referendum.
It is time for the Romanian government to prove to God and the world that the will of the people is respected in Romania.
It is time for Romania to join the ranks of other democratic countries that respect the will of the people and allow an independence referendum, such as the Scottish referendum in the United Kingdom or the Quebec referendum in Canada.
After 104 years, we believe that the time has come to decide once again the fate of Transylvania, Partium and Banat. Millions of Romanians, Hungarians, Germans, Jews, Slovaks, Roma and other minorities want a better and more hopeful life for themselves, their children and grandchildren.
We believe that every human being is born free and has equal dignity and right to determine and decide his own destiny. That is why the Romanians, Hungarians, Germans, Jews, Slovaks, Roma and other minorities in Transylvania, Partium and Banat want to exercise this right now and therefore demand the right to live free from any Bucharest influence, free to decide and independent from Romania.
We believe that the citizens of Transylvania, Partium and Banat deserve better in every respect.
DEAR MR. PRESIDENT, POLITICIANS, SENATORS, DEPUTIES, JUDGES
Since the establishment of the Independence Committee (August 2022), more than 2,015,000 citizens have expressed their support for independence.
Therefore, we repeatedly ask Bucharest to refrain from the previous intimidation, persecution, terrorism and treason charges against the members of the Committee for the Independence.
In 1918
The Romanian members of the Committee for Independence were not treated as TERRORISTS!
104 years ago, the members of the Committee for Independence were not persecuted, not called terrorists, and not held accountable for expressing their dissatisfaction with the Hungarian government; on the contrary, the Romanian government and the king supported the committee in everything.
In 2022
The Hungarian, German and Jewish members of the Committee for Independence are treated as TERRORISTS!
104 years later, the members of the Committee for Independence are intimidated, persecuted, accused of terrorism and treason for expressing their dissatisfaction with the Romanian government and for representing the will of the people of Transylvania, Partium and Banat.

We trust that our request will be taken seriously and respected by the Romanian Government.
If the Romanian government does not give a positive answer within a reasonable time, history will repeat itself, as it happened 104 years ago in Gyulafehérvár.
The people of Transylvania, Partium and Banat declare their independence from Romania without a referendum!
